Norfolk State Scholarship

The time has come for the Prince George’s County Maryland Chapter (PGCMDC) of the Norfolk State University Alumni Association (NSUAA) to select a $1000 merit scholarship recipient.  Each year, the chapter provides assistance to a graduating high school student who will enroll at Norfolk State University (NSU).  The scholarship recipient will receive $500 for two semesters as long as the student maintains the academic requirement.

To qualify, you must be a Maryland resident; a graduating senior with at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA); and MUST be officially accepted to NSU for the upcoming academic semester. Along with the completed application, we are requesting an official transcript from your high school, and a Norfolk State University acceptance letter.

For award consideration, the attached application must be completed and mailed along with all supporting documents to the address below.  All materials must be postmarked by Friday, April 14, 2017.  Late applications will not be accepted.

On RAMP to STEM Scholarships STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Full-time scholarship for fall 2017 to attend Montgomery College!

Application Deadline for fall 2017 is May 15, 2017.

For consideration, FAFSA must be complete and on file with Financial Aid by May 15,

This year, Wendy's® will be awarding 100 students from across the nation with $150,000 in scholarships. 
Wendy's is looking for scholar-athletes like last year's National Winner Frelicia Tucker, a tennis and track and field star who uses her work ethic and passion for excellence to inspire others and champion causes she believes in. Since 1994, Wendy's has been partnering with the biggest name in college football, Heisman®, to support education, recognize achievements, and celebrate students through the Wendy's High School Heisman.

Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarships

The Epsilon Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is offering two scholarships, one for $1000.00 and the second in the amount of $700.00 to members of the graduating class in our region who wish to pursue a career in the field of education. The applicants must plan to attend a school in the state of Maryland.

​The Windy Hill Middle School PTSA is offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior in Calvert County who went to WHMS during their academic career. The scholarship was established to promote the higher education of students who attended Windy Hill Middle School.

Scholarship will be awarded by the WHMS PTSA Board of Directors based on the following criteria:

1. Academic achievement
2. Extra-curricular activities
3. Community involvement
4. Quality of essay

Career & Technical Scholarship Program

Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program (1020 awards up to $2,500 each)

Receive up to $2,500 to pursue a career or technical certificate/degree

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Have completed high school (or earned a GED)
  • Will be enrolled in eligible program in Fall 2017
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical program at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States
  • Demonstrated critical financial need (must be eligible to receive the Federal Pell grant as determined by completion of the FAFSA)
  • Demonstrated perseverance in overcoming adversity
  • Be under the age of 30
  • Be a United States citizen
Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books and supplies.  All scholarship funds are paid directly to the institution on behalf of the recipient.

The application is now available for students who will be enrolled in a post-secondary program in Fall 2017. First application deadline is June 15.
