Delegate Mark Fisher's scholarship application process has been simplified. Students will now only have to fill out the application, provide their GPA on the application and include a 500 word or less essay on the topic included in the application.
No longer required: Letter of recommendation and final transcript.
According to the email from Del. Fisher's office, the application and essay should be emailed to: Mark.Fisher@house.state.md.us
Students interested in applying for the scholarship should reach out to their school counselor for their GPA.

This is good information for seniors and their families especially, but maybe all families in case they have other children who are currently in college.
Go to https://formswift.com/swift-student to start your financial aid appeal. Emergency cash aid may be available for current college students who have incurred unexpected expenses as a result of interruption of education due to COVID-19.

Realty Hop Scholarship
The RealtyHop Scholarship awards up to $2,000 a year to eligible undergraduate students and high school seniors working towards a bachelor and/or associate degree program in the US who demonstrate the ambition, diligence, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit that is central to the company culture.

George & Mary Lou Brezina Memorial Scholarship
Children’s Aid, Inc. will award a one-time $1,000 scholarship providing financial assistance to a student graduating from a Calvert County public high school for undergraduate study in the field of Education.
To be eligible for consideration, the student must:
1. Be a resident of Calvert County.
2. Be a graduating high school senior enrolled in one of Calvert County’s public high schools.
3. Have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
4. Be an Education major.
DEADLINE for scholarship applications is Friday, May 15, 2020. (no exceptions).

New Deadline: June 1, 2020
Due to the closures related to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to extend the deadline to June 1.
In addition, we have given them the following flexibility:
· Transcript: Students do not have to submit an official transcript. They may submit any other proof they have of their grades – for example, a print-out of grades from the schools website, report cards from each semester, or even a document that the student prepares that lists the courses that they have taken and their grades in each course.
· Recommendations: because the closure of schools, if students are not able to get a recommendation from a teacher or counselor, both letters of recommendation may be from any adult who knows the student well.
