Deadline to apply is midnight April 15, 2018 The Diabetes Scholars Foundation’s college scholarship program is available to incoming freshmen with type 1 diabetes and who are US citizens or permanent residents seeking a higher education at an accredited four year university, college, technical or trade school. This scholarship recognizes students who have high academic performance, are actively involved in the diabetes community, participate in community and/or extra-curricular activities and who have demonstrated that they are successfully managing the challenges of living with diabetes. Every year, thousands of workers are disabled by on-the-job injuries and, tragically, about 60 workers in Maryland lose their lives every year. Kids' Chance of Maryland provides an opportunity for the children of these workers to pursue their higher education, reach their goals, and fulfill their dreams for the future. The Voice of Democracy Contest has been the V.F.W.'s premier scholarship program since 1947. Nearly 40,000 high school students compete each year for over $2 million in scholarships and incentives.
