The University of Mississippi Arabic Language Flagship Program offers high school students the opportunity to gain cultural competency and language proficiency through a summer intensive course for beginners in Arabic. Students selected for this competitive program will join a small cohort of dedicated language learning, earning 6 college credit in this month-long session (July). Arabic has been identified as a critical need language valued by employers and organizations across the globe, so the UM Summer Arabic Language Institute offers students a foundation for advancement in many career pathways.
Regular Application and Paperwork Due: April 1, 2022 Students who attend the program will receive a $1,000 scholarship, and they can still apply for other scholarships based on merit and financial need. For more information click here The Naval Officers' Spouses' Club of Washington, D.C. is pleased to offer merit scholarships this year to graduating seniors who are dependents including all ranks of active duty, retired, or deceased U.S. Navy service members.
Please note the deadline for receipt of an application is April 1, 2023. The HHS PTSO is excited to again award 3 HHS seniors with a $500 non-refundable scholarship for any post-secondary education. Students will need to access the scholarship opportunity using the Calvert Local Scholarship Application website Calvert CLSA | CLSA (clsap.org).
Applications are due Friday, March 3, 2023. Students or their parent/guardian must be a HHS PTSO member. There is still time to join--the deadline to join the HHS PTSO is Friday, March 3, 2023. You can join by filling out the attached form and turning into the front office in an envelope marked HHS PTSO Membership or joining online below. Miss Utility of Maryland/D.C. will select eight high school seniors from Maryland and Washington, D.C., to each receive a $1,008.11 single-year scholarship.
Application forms and attachments must be submitted or postmarked by May 26, 2023. The EWM Scholarship was established by Patuxent High School in memory of Erica Weems, who was killed in a car accident on the morning of August 30, 2007. Erica graduated from Calvert High School in 1988, attended St. Mary's College and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Foreign Languages from George Mason University in 1994.
This scholarship will be awarded to two applicants, in the amount of $1000 each. Requirements: 1. Female athlete 2. A senior at an accredited Calvert County High School and planning to attendcollege 3. Demonstrate strong character, great academic and athletic ability (via essay/application) 4. Coach's recommendation (at least one) 5. Essay 6. All applications must be submitted to the guidance counselor’s office on or before March 30th. We will be awarding two scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each. This is our thirteenth year! We are offering scholarship opportunities to support students who have documented learning and/or accessibility needs. If you know a graduating student we encourage them to apply.
