On Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 10:00 am this virtal competition is open to all high school students, 9th through 12th grades that are interested in showcasing their skills and creativity in STEM and/or an opportunity to showcase their public speaking skills.

High school seniors who are US citizens or permanent residents and plan to enroll in an accredited post-secondary institution or continuous education program during the 2024-2025 academic year are eligible to apply now through May 17, 2024. Applicants must demonstrate leadership skills and good moral character and submit a short video sharing a personal story of success or overcoming a challenge.
The Calvert County Sportsman’s Club of Prince Frederick each year awards two (2) scholarships providing financial assistance to students graduating from Calvert County public or private high schools for undergraduate study in the field of their choice at a college, university, or trade school. This one-time scholarship award must be used for continued education at any college, university, or trade school approved by the Calvert County Sportsman’s Club. This program is open to all students; however, it is targeted to students who have shown an exceptional level of commitment to wetlands conservation, hunting, fishing, trapping, and other sportsman’s activities. In addition, students must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA (high school), or 2.5 or higher GPA (college, university or trade school).
The first-place scholarship recipient will receive the CCSC Conservation Scholarship; an award of $1,000.00 The second-place scholarship recipient will receive the CCSC Sportsman’s Scholarship; an award of $500.00 Payments are made directly to the student in advance of the fall semester each year. Each year DCNNOA awards over 30 scholarships starting at $1,000.00 to minority youth from the Washington, DC Metropolitan area based on academic achievement, positive community involvement, commitment, and financial need. Scholarship recipients select their major and attend the college or university of their choice without any obligation to join or affiliate with the military. An applicant needs to submit only one application package and he or she will be considered for any of our scholarships for which they meet the requirements. Applications are due May 24, 20024.
Dunkin' will award up to fifty (50) $2,000 scholarships to qualified students this academic year. This program is open to both high school seniors and current college students. Applications are online and conclude on April 15, 2024.
The showcase provides students from the Fifth District who are interested in pursuing a career in the Armed Services the opportunity to learn more about the nomination process to one of the four service academies. Representatives from the Federal Service Academies, College ROTC Programs & Members of the MD05 Nomination Selection Board will be present to answer questions and concerns.
Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated. Students submit entries to their representative’s office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.
