This is a great option for students needing hours for graduation The Luv Michael volunteer program is a grassroots, educational service learning program that is one part learning about autism, one part advocating for autism acceptance, and one part creating meaningful work. With volunteers across the world, our virtual service program allows for participation by any student who is service minded. Volunteers learn about autism, the challenges facing autistic adults, and our Luv Michael mission through multimedia resources. Volunteers take action and will advocate for autism acceptance by sharing their knowledge with others via digital outreach and in turn, help create meaningful work for autistic adults at Luv Michael. For completing around two weeks of virtual service, each volunteer will earn 40 hours of service and we award a certificate of completion. We are also quite flexible and able to tailor our program to the needs of individual school districts and school programs. The Air National Guard (ANG) provides an opportunity for individuals to enjoy civilian life while contributing to the welfare of their country and state. They earn extra money, travel, learn a skill or trade, and enjoy a break from the daily routine of life. In addition, ANG members may also qualify for retirement after 20 years of good military service and medical and dental insurance during service and upon retirement. QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENLISTMENT Individuals interested in becoming a member of the Air National Guard must first be interviewed by a recruiter to determine tentative eligibility for enlistment. Once this interview is complete, you will be required to take the military aptitude test (ASVAB) and a physical examination. The Military Entrance and Processing Station (MEPS) must accomplish both ASVAB and Physical. The results determine if you are mentally and physically qualified to meet the Air Guard Standards, and they also determine what career opportunities are available to you in the ANG. Prior Service personnel must present copies of their DD Form 214 or NGB Form 22 before enlisting in the ANG. To become a member of the DCANG, you DO NOT have to reside in the DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. |
