Calvert Education Association & Calvert Association of Educational Support Staff Scholarships The time has come for the Prince George’s County Maryland Chapter (PGCMDC) of the Norfolk State University Alumni Association (NSUAA) to select a $1000 merit scholarship recipient. Each year, the chapter provides assistance to a graduating high school student who will enroll at Norfolk State University (NSU). The scholarship recipient will receive $500 for two semesters as long as the student maintains the academic requirement. To qualify, you must be a Maryland resident; a graduating senior with at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA); and MUST be officially accepted to NSU for the upcoming academic semester. Along with the completed application, we are requesting an official transcript from your high school, and a Norfolk State University acceptance letter. For award consideration, the attached application must be completed and mailed along with all supporting documents to the address below. All materials must be postmarked by Friday, April 14, 2017. Applications For 2017 Minds In Motion Scholarship Program Now Being Accepted!!The application for the 2017 Minds In Motion Scholar-Athlete Scholarship is currently available below as of today, 3/1/17. Scholarships of $1,000 each toward post-secondary education will be awarded to outstanding senior male and female scholar-athletes attending a MPSSAA member school. For 2017, each of the nine Districts that comprise the MPSSAA will have at least one recipient with the remaining selections being "at-large" up to a total of 12-14 recipients. 2017 Links College ScholarshipThe Southern Maryland Chain Chapter, of the Links Incorporated is offering six scholarships to college bound high school seniors in the Tri-County area of Southern Maryland. The scholarship is open to high school seniors who demonstrate academic excellence, a social commitment to community service, the potential for leadership ad the need for a financial source to help offset the initial cost of college expenses. Deadline April 1st, 2017 The Calvert Optimist Club, through our Foundation, provides three (3) scholarships to assist Calvert County graduates in furthering their education.The three are: 1) Calvert Optimist-Knapp Scholarship - $8,000 with payments of $2,000 for a four-year educational endeavor. 2) Calvert Optimist Scholarship - $6,000 with payments of $1,500 for a four-year educational endeavor. 3) Calvert Optimist Career/Vocational/Technological Scholarship - $3,000 with payments of $1,500 for a two-year educational endeavor focused on trade school, community college, vocational training. The basic requirements for submission are 1) the student be a Calvert County High School graduate; 2) submission of a completed Application; and, 3) an essay on the students educational goals.
