You must sign up for interviews with each school of interest separately using the app or through our online registration site at the time of registration. Come prepared for on-site interviews by wearing professional attire, for example, slacks and blazers, suit and tie, dresses, skirts and blazers or pantsuit or skirt suits, etc. Ideally, students should complete school applications online before the HBCU Festival and bring several copies (recommend 5-10 copies) of the following to leave with the college representative conducting the interview: 1. Your completed application for each college of interest (applications available on college/university websites) 2. Official high school transcript in a sealed envelope (recommend bringing 5-10 transcripts) 3. Unofficial transcript (student’s copy; recommending bring 5-10 student’s copy transcript) 4. SAT/ACT scores (recommend bringing 5-10 unofficial printed copies; acceptable) 5. Letters of Recommendation from at least (2) two people in a sealed 6. Copy of Common App Essay (recommend bringing at least 5-10 copies) 7. Most recent report card 8. High school resume (recommend bringing at least 5-10 copies) View highlights from the 2019 College Festival https://youtu.be/obBR7sdtQwg Deadline: April 1, 2020In 2020, the Esperanza Education Fund will again award scholarships of at least $5000 and up to $20,000 to immigrant students and students who have two immigrant parents in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia to attend community colleges, public colleges and universities. Students are eligible for the scholarship regardless of ethnicity, national origin, or immigration status. For more information about the scholarship and to read more about our current scholars, please visit www.esperanzafund.org. The scholarship application is now available and can be accessed through http://www.esperanzafund.org/about-our-scholarship/. The application process is entirely electronic, and all applications are due on April 1. Deadline: March 1, 2020These scholarships are available through the Colonial Agricultural Educational Foundation. The application link can be found at www.colonialfarmcredit.com/scholarships. Despite the “agriculture” in our name, students do not have to have an ag background or be majoring in an ag related field for all scholarships. The only main requirement is that they reside in one of the counties served in our territory (which can be seen on the locations page of our website). See flyer below.
