The Optimist Club of Calvert-Prince Frederick, through the Calvert Optimist Community Parks Foundation, Inc., awards an annual scholarship providing financial assistance to students graduating from Calvert County public high schools seeking post-secondary career education, vocational or technical training (up to a two-year program) at any trade or technical school, college or university approved by the Optimist Club of Calvert-PF which results in the applicant being awarded an accredited vocational certification or an Associate's Degree. The $3,000 scholarship is paid at the rate of $1,500 each year and must be use for career education, vocational or technical training. Payments are made directly to the student in advance of the fall semester each year. Deadline: April 15, 2019 Knapp Scholarship-$8000 & Jim King Scholarship-$6000The Optimist Club of Calvert-Prince Frederick, through the Calvert Optimist Community Parks Foundation, Inc., each year awards two (2) scholarships providing financial assistance to students graduating from Calvert County public high schools for undergraduate study in the field of their choice at a college or university. These scholarship awards must be used for continued education at any college or university approved by the Optimist Club of Calvert. The first-place scholarship recipient will receive the Optimist of Calvert-Knapp Scholarship; an award of $8,000, to be paid at the rate of $2,000 per year for up to four (4) years of continuing education. The second-lace scholarship recipient will receive the Optimist of Calvert-Jim King Scholarship; an award of $6,000, to be paid at the rate of $1,500 per year for up to four (4) years of continuing education. Payments are made directly to the student in advance of the fall semester each year over a four-year period. Deadline: April 19, 2019 The PDK Educational Foundation awards more than 30 scholarships each year to prospective educators, with awards ranging from $500 to $5000. Miss Utility/District One Call is pleased to announce its fifth annual college scholarship program for graduating high school seniors. Miss Utility/District One Call will select one student from each of the eight regions outlined in the application covering Maryland and Washington, D.C., to receive a $1,008.11 single-year scholarship.
