To apply, you will need to create an account within the Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS). To create or log into your existing MDCAPS account (if applicable), please visit https://mdcaps.mhec.state.md.us/MDCAPS/login.aspx. Once you log into your MDCAPS account, you will see the "Apply" link where you may submit your application and view any additional documentation required for consideration of the scholarship. Please note that the VAIC application, the 2020-2021 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and all additional documents required must be submitted to the Office of Student Financial Assistance at the Maryland Higher Education Commission no later than March 1, 2020. Miss Utility/District One Call will select one student from each of the eight regions outlined in the application covering Maryland and Washington, D.C., to receive a $1,008.11 single-year scholarship. Applications will be accepted until April 3, 2020. To submit the Miss Utility/District One Call Scholarship application online, click here. These scholarships are funded through the generosity of donors – members of Educators Rising, Educators Rising Collegiate, Pi Lambda Theta, and PDK Association – who are committed to supporting the next generation of public educators. Every year, the PDK Educational Foundation Scholarship Program awards about 100 scholarships across all membership types. One-time and renewable awards range from $500 to $5,000. The application is designed to capture any specific eligibility criteria designated by the donor(s) and applicants are considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible.
