In support of educational development and academic excellence, TCMDAC offers the Elvear B. Johnson (Ph.D.) Scholarship in memory of Dr. Johnson. Dr. Johnson was one of the original members of the TCMDAC’s chartering team who passed away prior to the completion of the charter. ![]() Being an avid gamer in this day and age is now worth more than just fun and games - there are quite a few scholarships for gamers who are looking to pay for college! Esports have entered the collegiate sports arena, where students can land Esports scholarships and get paid to play. Good news for gamers! Harrisburg University of Science and Technology recently became the first Mid-Atlantic university, and the 50th in the nation, to join the National Association of Collegiate eSports (NACE). As a part of our international recruiting effort, Harrisburg University will offer 15 full athletic scholarships—making eSports the university’s first varsity sport. Harrisburg University’s varsity eSports team is on track to launch in the Fall 2018 semester. The varsity team will have the opportunity compete in some of the most popular eSports games around the world, including League of Legends, Overwatch and Hearthstone. Harrisburg University will also offer competitive teams for NBA 2K as part of a pilot program with NACE to test more traditional sports games. ![]() The Big Sun Athletic Organization is dedicated to providing an opportunity for young athletes to learn and to excel. We are developing programs in all sports in our community in an effort to keep our children motivated, healthy and to teach them the value of teamwork. Who is eligible? All student athletes are eligible regardless of the sport they are engaged in or the capacity in which they participate. The student must be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute. Please remember to include your name and the name of the school that you are attending. Deadline June 19, 2018 SMECO is offering $1,500 college scholarships to four high school seniors who are graduating in 2018. If you’re a senior living with parents or guardians who are SMECO customer-members, and you have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, you’re eligible to apply.

![]() Completed applications are due by January 5th, 2018 Each year the Maryland JCI Senate awards two $500 Scholarships to deserving seniors from Maryland high schools. The Maryland winners are chosen based on merit and need. The applications of the two Maryland winners are then forwarded to the US JCI Senate Foundation for consideration for a $1000 Scholarship. The goals of SEAP are to encourage participating students to pursue science and engineering careers, to further their education via mentoring by laboratory personnel and their participation in research, and to make them aware of DoN research and technology efforts, which can lead to employment within the DoN. SEAP provided competitive research internships to over 294 high school students this year. Participating students spend eight weeks during the summer doing research at 25 DoN laboratories.
