Knapp Scholarship $8000 and Jim King Scholarship $6000Deadline: April 15, 2020 The Optimist Club of Calvert-Prince Frederick, through the Calvert Optimist Community Parks Foundation, Inc., each year awards two (2) scholarships providing financial assistance to students graduating from Calvert County public high schools for undergraduate study in the field of their choice at a college or university. These scholarship awards must be used for continued education at any college or university approved by the Optimist Club of Calvert. The first-place scholarship recipient will receive the Optimist Club of Calvert-Knapp Scholarship; an award of $8,000, to be paid at the rate of $2,000 per year for up to four (4) years of continuing education. The second-place scholarship recipient will receive the Optimist of Calvert-Jim King Scholarship; an award of $6,000, to be paid at the rate of $1,500 per year for up to four (4) years of continuing education. Payments are made directly to the student in advance of the fall semester each year over a four-year period. Miss Utility/District One Call is pleased to announce its sixth annual college scholarship program for graduating high school seniors. Miss Utility/District One Call will select one student from each of the eight regions outlined in the application covering Maryland and Washington, D.C., to receive a $1,008.11 single-year scholarship. Be a resident of Calvert County 2. Be a graduating high school senior enrolled in one of Calvert County’s public high schools 3. Have a GPA of 2.0 or above 4. Be enrolled in the Calvert Career and Technology Academy 5. These scholarships are funded through the generosity of donors – members of Educators Rising, Educators Rising Collegiate, Pi Lambda Theta, and PDK Association – who are committed to supporting the next generation of public educators. Every year, the PDK Educational Foundation Scholarship Program awards about 100 scholarships across all membership types. One-time and renewable awards range from $500 to $5,000. The application is designed to capture any specific eligibility criteria designated by the donor(s) and applicants are considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible. Deadline: April 1, 2020In 2020, the Esperanza Education Fund will again award scholarships of at least $5000 and up to $20,000 to immigrant students and students who have two immigrant parents in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia to attend community colleges, public colleges and universities. Students are eligible for the scholarship regardless of ethnicity, national origin, or immigration status.
