Here are three opportunities with upcoming deadlines: UNCF STEM Scholars Program Administered by the UNCF (United Negro College Fund), this scholarship is open to African American high school students who aspire to earn STEM degrees and pursue careers in STEM fields. The application is open for high school seniors who are entering college as first-time first-year students. Learn more and apply. Application deadline: March 3, 2019 Young Leaders Summit (YLS) Administered by a consortium led by the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, YLS is a free, four-day, overnight college empowerment conference for top-performing, Pell Grant—eligible, high school juniors. It's designed to give a diverse group of students the tools to successfully apply to top universities, have full access to financial aid opportunities, and set a course for success. YLS will take place August 8–11, 2019, at the University of Chicago. Learn more and apply. Application deadline: March 8, 2019 Cobell Scholarship Administered by Indigenous Education Inc., this scholarship for the academic year 2019-20 is awarded to tribally enrolled American Indian and Alaska Native students. Students must have a competitive GPA and plan to attend college full time at a public or private nonprofit institution. Finalists are selected on merit, leadership, and community engagement, but all final awards are based on financial need. Learn more and apply.
