Deadline: November 15, 2021A message from Emory University:
As seniors work through their college applications, we want to be sure you know about the Emory University Scholar Programs, our comprehensive merit scholarships that empower students to reach their full potential and make an impact on the world. The Scholars application deadline is November 15, 2021. Not much has changed since last year; however, we want to provide a quick refresher about how the Scholars selection process works with our test optional policy in mind. What kind of student is an Emory Scholar? At Emory, we believe the criteria for an Emory Scholar goes way beyond GPA and test scores, especially in a year where so many students don't have scores. We invest in students who have creative minds, are intellectually curious, and are engaged with their communities and areas of interest. Emory Scholars are typically the students you describe like this: “I have never met a student this curious, engaged, bright, accomplished, and kind, all wrapped into one.” Can students without test scores be considered for the Emory Scholar Programs? Yes! Students who have not submitted test scores (or who have stated they would not like their scores considered in the review of their application) will be eligible for full Scholar consideration. For many years, test scores have not been a large part of our holistic review process. We will lean more heavily on other application materials, including personal statements, short answer questions, letters of recommendation, high school transcript, and, where available, alumni interview feedback.
