The Dwight P. Jacobus Scholarships were established by the Association of School Business Officials of Maryland and the District of Columbia to assist those citizens of the State and/or District who require financial assistance to secure a college education. Scholarships are awarded to deserving undergraduate students pursuing a career in Business or Education at an accredited institution of higher education within Maryland or the District of Columbia. Dwight P. Jacobus was the first Executive Director of ASBO. Number of Scholarships Ten (10) scholarships may be awarded each year. At least one scholarship will be awarded to an individual enrolled in an approved program leading to teacher certification. Criteria for Award Awards are made by the Association of School Business Officials of Maryland and the District of Columbiabased upon:
Each scholarship has a value of $1,000.00 for the school year awarded; to be paid directly to the school in which the recipient is enrolled. Renewal Each recipient may retain the award subject to the following conditions:

A student who wishes to be considered must file an application and supporting documents with the Chair of the Scholarship Committee for ASBO of Maryland and the District of Columbia, no later than March 1. No other forms will be accepted. Applications are available from guidance or financial aid offices, or may be requested in writing from the Chair of the Scholarship Committee. Requests for applications must be received no later than February 15. The following support documentation must be submitted with the ASBO application form:
