Jacobus Scholarships were established by the Association of School Business Officials of Maryland and the District of Columbia to assist those citizens of the State and/or District who require financial assistance to secure a college education. Scholarships are awarded to deserving undergraduate students pursuing a career in Business or Education at an accredited institution of higher education within Maryland or the District of Columbia. Dwight P. Jacobus was the first Executive Director of ASBO. Number of Scholarships Ten (10) scholarships may be awarded each year. At least one scholarship will be awarded to an individual enrolled in an approved program leading to teacher certification. Criteria for Award Awards are made by the Association of School Business Officials of Maryland and the District of Columbiabased upon:
Each scholarship has a value of $1,000.00 for the school year awarded; to be paid directly to the school in which the recipient is enrolled. Renewal Each recipient may retain the award subject to the following conditions:

A student who wishes to be considered must file an application and supporting documents with the Chair of the Scholarship Committee for ASBO of Maryland and the District of Columbia, no later than March 1. Please do not hesitate to see him in the main office for concerns or support. ![]() The Calvert County Health Department has approximately 300 flu vaccines that they would like to offer to our STUDENTS 4-18 years of age.The flu vaccines will be offered at the health department at the following times: Tuesday mornings from 8:30-11:00 am (through March 2017) Tuesday afternoons from 1:00-3:30 pm (through December 2016) They are walk in clinics and no appointment is necessary. ![]() State of Maryland International Reading Association Council Joseph J. Fox, Jr. Memorial Scholarship The Joseph J. Fox, Jr. Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to three graduates of any Maryland high school who plan to major in education at an accredited college or university. Recipients of this scholarship must meet the specific criteria for each scholarship. Each of the three scholarships are awarded for $2,000.00. Selected recipients will receive the scholarship funding upon presentation of a copy of a college or university tuition bill. Scholarship Criteria
